Yesterday I got mini stockings for each one of us here in the house and Leander and I decorated them with all our names so we can have stocking to open together when we all get back from our respective Christmases. Last weekend I went Christmas shopping with my friend Liz, and tomorrow I'm helping my housemate Joe take pictures of himself and his sister so they can frame it and give it to their parents for Christmas. I'm finally, finally feeling like it's Christmas again.
I've got a handful of new vernacular bits for you:
police = rozzers
suspenders = braces
braces = a brace
pants = trousers
underwear = pants
tanktop/undershirt = vest
vest = waistcoat
what time is your first class tomorrow = what time are you in
thanks = ta
and here's the kicker, the roast turkey in this dinner of speech:
christmas = crimbo
